About us
A Proud Tradition of Brotherhood and Community Since 1918
HThe Duke of Connaught Lodge is a Masonic Lodge that was consecrated at the Maple Terrace Masonic hall in Newcastle upon Tyne on the 31st October 1918.
Today, we meet at Wallsend Masonic Hall on the fourth Thursday of every month.
We are a thriving lodge, one of the fastest growing in Northumberland with a strong tradition of welcoming new members. Our experienced brethren are always on hand to support and guide those who join us.
The Duke of Connaught Lodge hosts a variety of social events throughout the year, including charity dinners, Ladies evenings, family days and much more. We also enjoy regular visits from and to other lodges, fostering connections and camaraderie.
Our lodge operates under the governance of the United Grand Lodge of England, alongside thousands of lodges worldwide.
Within our province, Northumberland, there are hundreds of lodges and thousands of members. Together, we uphold the enduring values of Freemasonry while forging meaningful connections in our community.

What Freemasonry Means to Us
Freemasonry is more than a tradition – it’s a way of life. At the Duke of Connaught Lodge, we cherish the values of integrity, kindness, and respect, fostering a sense of belonging for members of all backgrounds. Our rituals and teachings inspire personal growth and a commitment to helping others, creating bonds that last a lifetime.
Our Commitment to the Community
As Freemasons, we believe in leaving the world better than we found it. The Duke of Connaught Lodge supports local charities, organizes events, and participates in initiatives that make a positive impact. Together, we strive to uplift those around us and give back to the community we’re proud to call home.
What we believe
Guiding Principles of Freemasonry
For Freemasons, there are four important values that help define their path through life: Integrity, Friendship, Respect and Charity. In today’s world filled with uncertainty, these principles ring as true now as they have at any point in the organisation’s history.
